Regina, SK – The Calgary Hitmen ran their season high winning streak to three games with a 5-3 victory over the Regina Pats Friday night at the Brandt Centre.

Micheal Zipp scored the game winner, breaking a 3-3 third period tie with 11:09 remaining, to give the Hitmen their second win over the Pats in as many tries this season.

Connor Rankin had a pair of goals for Calgary who also got singles from Pavel Karnaukhov and Radel Fazleev.  Fazleev chipped in a pair of assists, who along with three helpers from Ben Thomas, both finished the contest with a team leading three points.

Special teams played a major role in the outcome as Calgary went 2-2 with the man advantage while killing all four chances for the Pats.

Mack Shields made 26 saves to record the win in goal with Regina outshooting the Hitmen 29-26.

Adam Brooks, Patrick D’Amico and Austin Wagner netted goals for the Pats who saw their three game winning streak come to an end.

The win improves Calgary’s record to 10-8-0-1 while the loss drops Regina to 8-9-1-0.
