HUMBOLDT BRONCOS TO ICE A TEAM IN 2018-19
Humboldt, SK – Today the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Club is announcing that their Junior A team will be ready to hit the ice for the 2018-19 SJHL season.
There remains much to do to rebuild the team, therefore steps are now being taken to slowly return the club to routine hockey operations. This week the process will begin to recruit a head coach and general manager.
“Darcy Haugen was selfless, inspirational and motivating, building up his players to be great
ambassadors and role models both on the ice and in the community.” said Humboldt Broncos president Kevin Garinger. “He was the coach every player wanted, and that other coaches wanted to emulate.”
“As a general manager, Darcy made smart decisions and was driven to ensure the Broncos organization succeeded in every aspect of its operations,” continued Garinger. “He took our team to new heights – it will be incredibly difficult to find someone that can rise to his standards.”
An announcement will be made once new coaching staff is established.
Coinciding with the head coach recruitment process, the Humboldt Broncos will welcome 80 prospective players to attend an invite-only camp from May 25-27, 2018 in Saskatoon. This camp will not be open to the public or to media.
Season tickets for the Humboldt Broncos 2018-19 season will soon go on sale. While demand is
expected to be high, every effort will be made to ensure that 2017-18 season ticket holders receive first right of refusal on their seats. Residents are encouraged to watch for more details in their local newspaper and listen for updates on local radio on season ticket sales in the coming days and weeks.
The Humboldt Broncos remain committed to supporting everyone who has been impacted by
the tragic event of April 6, 2018. Together we will move forward, #HumboldtStrong.
