ICE 1 PATS 0
CRANBROOK, B.C. – Wyatt Hoflin turned away 34 shots to record his first shutout of the season for Kootenay as the Ice topped the Regina Pats 1-0 Friday evening at the Cranbrook Recplex.
Troy Murray scored on the power play 33 seconds into the second period for the Ice (3-6-0) and it stood up as the game winner.
Daniel Wapple stopped 15 shots for the Pats (4-4-1) in the loss.
The Pats outshot the Ice 34-16 in the first of three games in three nights. Regina was 0/3 on the powerplay and 2/3 killing penalties. The attendance was 2223.
The Pats visit Lethbridge Saturday at 7 pm on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm).
Pats outshot them 34-16, so just a tough, typical shutdown Kootenay game at home.
Discipline is the only thing holding back the Pats so far. Special teams are incredibly important 72 games of the year. And they lost another game to the odd man advantage. Time will tell if they want to win that part of the game.

The one thing that could be said though is the Pats PP is terrible, there 17.9% is flattering compared to the actual scoring chances they get on the PP… its time for the PP… Read more »
