INDIANS 6 RED SOX 2, PLAYOFFS NEXT

In the final regular season game of the year the Regina Red Sox dropped a 6-2 decision to the visiting Swift Current Indians. 810 Red Sox fans spent a warm and enjoyable evening at Currie Field.

With the loss, Regina finished the 2016 season in third place in the Eastern Division with a 26-21 record.
Kyle MacDonald led the Swift Current charge with two extra-base hits. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Indian relief pitcher Aidan Goodall improved his record to 4-1 with the win.

Caleb Dunn pitched very well for the Sox but was on the unfortunate end of a Gabriel Montero error that kept the Swift Current half of the seventh inning alive. The Indians went on to score three unearned runs and create a 6-2 lead.

Local Saskatchewan product Geordie McDougall went two for three with a walk for the Red Sox.

The playoffs begin on Sunday night as the Red Sox travel to Yorkton for game 1.
