IT JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER

After Toronto Mayor Rob Ford said this to the media this morning:  “And the next thing I want to call Mayor Bratina in Hamilton and tell them we are going to have to spank their little Tiger-Cats”, the Toronto Argonauts issued the following statement:

“Toronto – It’s well-known that the Mayor is a big fan and supporter of the game of football. The Toronto Argonauts organization is not in a position to comment on the manner of dress of public officials. The situation with respect to the Mayor and his leadership is unseemly at best. These latest remarks, while wearing our team’s jersey, are particularly disappointing given our organization’s work in the community to help youth deal with issues of bullying prevention.  We hope for the benefit of the wonderful citizens of Toronto and this great city that this situation is resolved expeditiously.”

I don't see what's wrong with that. It's what he said immediately FOLLOWING that which was a tad more risque.

Listen here is a lesson for all to learn when watching Mayor Rob Ford. It is one thing to disagree politically, and it is one thing to disagree on conduct. This is a different animal.

Where this guy is it can now only be summed up with the old saying in AA: Addiction is the gift that just keeps on giving.

I wonder if Tom Horton's will also be issuing a statement to separate their brand from Rob Ford.

The CFL should try to get Rob Ford to do the ceremonial kick-off at the Grey Cup. It would be a perfect way to gain international exposure for the game.

Google the unrated version of what he said after. It's almost insane and I've seen it at least 10 times today.

I grew up watching SCTV and John Candy had a character Johnny LaRue. Johnny LaRue actually had skits where he runs for City Council of Melonville.

In a million years I never thought Johnny LaRue would ever become the Mayor of Toronto.
