The 2013 Grey Cup Festival kicked off with the opening ceremonies and arrival of the Grey Cup over the noon hour on Wednesday. These fans are already into it….
This was a small example of the lineup to get into the downtown tent for the opening ceremonies. Yours truly waited 30 minutes to get in and then had to bolt. A sign of things to come…
These Grey Cup revelers are into the spirit early…
F.W. Hill Mall ready to host the football nation…
A little further down, a DJ spins tunes…
Dewdney awaits…
6’8″ Lions guard Patrick Kabongo stopped by the Magna Electric Grey Cup party Wednesday afternoon…

Dewdney awaits trouble !
I went down to see the opening ceremonies and waited 15 minutes in line then gave up.
Love Pat Kabongo ever since the playa t Mosaic when Omar Morgan intercepted a pass around his own goal line and ran it back for a touchdown. Patrick Kabongo ran hard all the way down the field after him. No chance of catching him. Love that kind of effort.
Why does the Roughriders fanbase Insist on doing the CHANTING CHEER of Henryyyy, he's got to love and feel great hearing his name as a professional athlete from the opposing team fans, good on them for recognizing and bringing sportsmanship to the sidelines.
One little tent for a so called Canadian national event with CFL visiting fans from afar. Pulled into Regina from the east Tuesday night 9:55pm, thought I would pick up some quick fast food drive through, nothing open, why the 10:00 pm close ? Come' on Regina, Saskatchewan get off your small town mentality.
did u have a bomber jersey on? they might have seen it and pretended to be closed.
Was wearing pricey green authentic Roughriders jersey #4, they might have seen it and pretended to be closed, no hospitality from the close minded.
well i guarantee the jersey wasnt your problem. and i live here and have never had a problem getting grub at 10 pm or 2 am. u must need a guide to navigate through or small town.
Maybe go to a game once in awhile there Anon 4 and you'll figure it out.
Stamps fans I tell ya…
No hospitality in Regina. Rigghhhhhtttttt. Feel free to go away then.
Not for you.
Can some retailer donate a few ice scrapers for the Hamilton Tiger Cats players. Picture caption online Globe and Mail showing today's Hamilton practice on Taylor Field, cold frosted player visors. Saskatchewan needs a dome/retractable roof stadium If they want to host any future grand scale national events. Gotta give those guys credit (Tiger Cats) for enduring those weather elements.
Yup !
Fast food on the east end of Regina? I can think of 3 McDonalds before you hit the Ring Road, one Wal-Mart and two 24 hour drive thrus. Try harder.
Taco Time, Mr Sub, KFC, Arbys, to name a few, closed at 10, even your Rotten Ronnies on Prince of Wales Dr was temporaryly closed, sorry bubba, that's the facts.
Great blog Mr Pedersen !
Can someone tell me how tickets work for Riderville? The website is great, but piss poor on communicating how to gain entry for the weekend.
Al
Hey Anonymous, it's called jeering not cheering. Did you honestly think Rider fans are cheering for the bra wearing quarterback!

Ya, come on Regina! Wake up!
*goes face deep in Baconator*
Anon #5-
There is more than "one tent" for people. There is also Evraz Place that can fit another 20 thousand people.
I don't know of any fast food places in Regina that close at 10pm.
Stop trolling and get a life
I guess you don't get out that often to know anything, quit trolling and get a life.
Ernie,
Brandon, Mb.
Rod, it's not a home game for the Riders so will they still be on the west side of the field?
Mr. Pedersen,
I enjoy your blog and your radio program. It's wonderful to be keep abreast of all the goings ons in Riderville; especially this week.
I very enjoy reading Coach Etch's column and his insight into the CFL. It's certainly worth taking the time and energy to fully digest.
Yesterday, on your show when you said Coach Etch hadn't acknowledged Coach Cortez's contribution; thought perhaps I'd had a seniors moment and misunderstood. So grabbed my reading glasses and read it again. Sure enough, he'd acknowledged and praised Cortez's contribution to the win over Calgary.
