JON RYAN ON RICHARD SHERMAN
Seahawks punter Jon Ryan of Regina will be the first-ever Saskatchewanian to play in the Super Bowl when Seattle faces the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in 10 days.
Despite the hoopla surrounding the Seahawks’ road trip to the big game, Jon has been kind enough to do some interviews in his hometown. The first of which was Wednesday morning on the Wolf 104.9 with Michael Ball and in their discussion, Ryan brushed on the antics of Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
“He’s a great guy,” Ryan laughed. “In the locker room, just talking to him, he’s really quite different than most people in the public see when he goes on these rants. He’s really not like that at all. He’s a Stanford grad so he’s a pretty intelligent guy.”
Ballsy surmised that Sherman’s cockiness is what makes him so good at his craft.
“I agree with you there,” Ryan concurred. “He’s the best in the game and I really believe that. And if you ask him, he’ll tell you. To play that position you’ve got to be a little bit cocky. You’re out there on an island and you’ve got to be good and you’ve got to know it.”
As for the magnitude of the situation the Seahawks find themselves in, Ryan admits it hasn’t quite sunk in yet.
“Not quite yet. It still feels like it’s a bit of a dream right now. It hasn’t sunk in yet but as the week goes along, and we’re getting back to practice today, getting into the game plan, it’s going to sink in a little bit more.”
Rock em Ryan.
Not only will you be the 1st Saskatchewan born to play in the Super Bowl. Hopefully you will be the 1st to take a Super bowl title home to Seattle.
Go Seahawks Go
Let's go BRONCOS, shut those arrogant jerks up.
Hey Ryan. Tell Sherman to shut up….and get a hair cut. At least try to look like more than a thug.
I'm guessing he has 1 more college degree than you do. Who's the thug now?
