REGINA – Jake Leschyshyn scored twice, including the game winner, and added an assist as the Pats beat the Prince Albert Raiders 4-1 at the Brandt Centre on Sunday.
The Pats opened the scoring just 37 seconds in when Robbie Holmes scored his 10th on a shot from the right circle.
The Pats held that lead through to the end of the second period.
Early in the third, Jake Leschsyhyn made it 2-0 with his 13th of the year and then Bryan Lockner added to the lead with his seventh and it was a 3-0 game.
The Raiders pulled their goalie with just under seven minutes left and that’s when Leschyshyn would score his second of the contest and it was 4-0 Regina.
The Raiders got one back with a five on three powerplay with three minutes left but the Pats came away with the 4-1 victory.
Regina outshot Prince Albert 39-29 in the win, the powerplay was oh for six and the penalty kill five for six. Leschsyhyn led the way with three points, Cole Dubinsky picked up his first ever WHL point with an assist and Tyler Brown was solid making 28 saves.
