LEAFS CLEAN HOUSE
TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs have fired general manager Dave Nonis, interim coach Peter Horachek and his entire staff on the heels of the team’s worst season in almost 20 years.
Nonis was fired with three years left on his contract after the Leafs went 30-44-8 to finish with 68 points, the fewest in an 82-game season since 1996-97.
Toronto was in a playoff position in early January when president Brendan Shanahan and Nonis announced the firing of coach Randy Carlyle and subsequently replaced him with Horachek.
The Leafs went 9-28-5 under Horachek, whose dismissal was expected.
In addition to Horachek, assistants Steve Spott, Chris Dennis and Rick St. Croix were fired, while Steve Staios was moved back to the front office as manager of player development.
Assistant general manager Kyle Dubas and director of player personnel Mark Hunter will share interim duties until the Leafs hire a new general manager.

What a mess 🙁
Who cares. Just another loser Toronto franchise that sports networks based there think everybody should care about.
This is exactly what the Oilers have to do, minus the coach that replaced Eakins and actually got respect from his players.
I expect that TSN will give us a daily update on the search for replacements. They'll probably have a 5-man panel discuss it everyday for primetime broadcasts.
Nonis couldn't fix Burke's mess.
