LESCHYSHYN TO KNIGHTS, HENRY TO AVS

Regina, Saskatchewan – Regina Pats forward Jake Leschyshyn was drafted in the 2nd round, 62nd overall by the Vegas Golden Knights at Saturday’s NHL Draft in Chicago. The Saskatoon product scored 17 goals and had 40 points in 47 games last season. For his WHL Career, the 18-year-old has scored 35 goals and has 59 points in 125 games. The 18-year-old was originally the sixth overall pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft by the Red Deer Rebels. The Pats acquired him in a trade in January of 2015. Leschyshyn was ranked number 42 in North America by the NHL’s Central Scouting Service ahead of the draft._______________________
Regina, Saskatchewan – Regina Pats forward Nick Henry was drafted in the 4th round, 94th overall by the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. The product of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, scored 35 goals and had 46 assists for 81 points in 72 games last season. Henry finished second among all WHL rookies in points and goals and led the way at plus 32. His 13 powerplay goals ranked first as well. The 17-year-old was acquired by the Pats in a trade with the Everett Silvertips in 2016. Henry was ranked number 25 in North America by the NHL’s Central Scouting Service ahead of the draft.
