LIONS 28 BOMBERS 23

WINNIPEG – The B.C. Lions clinched a spot in the CFL playoffs on Saturday night with a 28-23 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers – but the win may have come at a cost.

The Lions (9-7) lost starting quarterback Kevin Glenn to a big hit from Bombers’ Johnny Sears.

He didn’t return but backup John Beck took over, didn’t miss a beat, and threw the 12-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to Ernest Jackson on his first play.

He then pounded the nail in with a 55-yard touchdown pass to former Bomber Kito Poblah.

Paris Cotton’s two-yard touchdown run with just over two minutes left in the game brought the Bombers (6-11) within five but they missed a two-point convert attempt.

Winnipeg has now dropped eight straight games and will miss the post-season.

Hey Dion … I don't blame you. If 'ol KJ can keep up the pace for 60 minutes … watch out. Lol.

It doesn't matter who plays who from now on, there is no easy way to the cup. Costly penalties and poor decisions will determine all the games. Always a rider fan first but it will be interesting to see who ends up at the top. Any team can win it.

Even if the Riders finish 4th and get the crossover spot in the East they don't have a hope in H***.

At least the Bombers were the team that knocked Durant out for the season.

Sure don't hear much about Willypeg now. They crashed hard. There only accomplishment this year was knocking out the Riders star QB.
