LIONS EXTEND LOGAN

The BC Lions Football Club announced this afternoon that import running back Stefan Logan has signed a contract extension with the team.

Logan returned to the Lions in mid-October last season after a four-year stint in the NFL. The speedy running back had originally signed with the Lions in 2008 and played one season before departing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Stefan demonstrated last season that he gives our offence an added dimension,” said VP of football operations and GM Wally Buono. “His speed, athleticism and football instincts make him a very valuable piece of the kind of championship-calibre team we’re building.”

Playing alongside fellow running back Andrew Harris and creating arguably the CFL’s most dynamic pairing in the backfield, Logan had an immediate effect on the team’s running attack rushing for 236 yards on 33 carries in the final three regular season games last year. The one one-two punch of Harris and Logan boosted the offence’s average rushing yardage to 164 yards per game during that same span.

“Few players are a threat to score each time the ball is in their hands and Stefan is one of those rare players,” said head coach Mike Benevides. “He can give us instant field position on special teams and along with Andrew, create a lot of problems for a defence while at the same time providing a ton of options for Khari and the offence.”

Lions are going to be an interesting team this year but finding this whole host team wins Grey Cup pretty boring. Good luck red/blacks and even better luck to a team in Halifax…now there are some great fans!

BC at running back have Andrew Harris and Stephan Logan. The Riders have….holy footballs Batman we have Andre Lalonde and Daryl Stephanson. Both non-imports.
Please Mr. Taman sign another two or three running backs, preferable quick with great hands and impeccable blocking abilities.
