LIONS RE-SIGN ELIMIMIAN
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club is very pleased to announce that international linebacker Solomon Elimimian has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the team keeping him in orange through the 2018 season. Elimimian, the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player for 2016 was slated to become a free agent in February.
“Solomon’s achievements as a football player are significant and this is a very big signing for our club,” said VP of football operations, GM and head coach Wally Buono. “He is an important part of our defence, a leader in our dressing room and I know how important it is for our fans to have Solomon back with us as well.”
The only player in CFL history to win three different major player awards and the only purely defensive player to earn the league’s Most Outstanding Player Award as he did in 2014, Elimimian’s resume already reads like that of a hall fame candidate.
A three-time CFL All-Star and a four-time West Division selection, Elimimian is on the cusp of Lions’ franchise history heading into next season. His 575 career tackles put him just 12 defensive stops behind Dante Marsh’s all-time team mark of 587, while his combined total of 605 stops (including special teams tackles) places him just behind Marsh’s 609.
“BC is the only place I wanted to play and I’m elated to be signing back with the Lions,” said Elimimian. “We have all the ingredients of a championship team and I can’t wait to get back on the field and get to work in 2017.”
Note: Solomon Elimimian will be available to the media at the club’s practice facility today at 11:30 am.

Just think at 6 feet tall Jones would consider him to short for his team.
If this amazing talented linebacker could not stick in the NFL, how could Jeff Knox Jr. or Adam Bighill make it there?
Bighill is as good as Eliminian. And younger. For the right track he had a much of a shot as Jerrell Freeman did after he left the Riders. As far as Knox Jr. Not sure
Good signing for BC. Elimimian is so fun to watch play. Super fast and a great tackler.

I'm envious.
Solly Boom Boom is an elite CFL player. One of my faves to watch. Great to see him get paid! He has earned it.
Weird to think that a team might re-sign their top players
