LIONS RELEASE DURON CARTER
VANCOUVER – The B.C Lions have released receiver Duron Carter.
Carter had 67 catches for 614 yards and three touchdowns in his sixth CFL season, and only one with the Lions.
Carter, a two-time CFL all-star, began his career in Canada with Montreal in 2013.
Over six seasons with Montreal, Saskatchewan, Toronto and B.C., Carter has 343 catches for 4,764 yards and 30 touchdowns in 91 games.

Can he, would he, why yes he can. A return to the Saskatchewan Roughriders imminent. This will take the team over the top for the next few years. He belongs and fits Saskatchewan.
Sad. Its like his spirit got broken or something. He gave me one of my highlight plays ever. To tell BLM he was going to pick him off in the game and score a TD … then did. Hope he finds his way.
Duron would be a great addition to the Riders immediately for the stretch run, he’s a free agent. A Grey Cup championship would be the return dividend to Riderville.
He’s a free agent after the season my friend and not during!
He’s a free agent according to league sources, BC released him outright. Other teams in the league adding players just this past week. That’s the CFL for ya.
He cannot be signed by another team until the season is over as he was released after his team’s season was completed.
Remember when Carter and Stafford were released by Montreal a few years ago? Popp released them after the trade deadline so that they couldn’t be signed by another CFL team for the current season.
Teams can sign free agents but not a CFL free agent who just became available.
Its possible Chris Jones could make a return to Saskatchewan as Head coach/Gm, Mr R welcoming. The Browns about to call it a day to the season with their personnel taking the fall.
I’ve actually heard from a few sources the Browns are considering adding DC to their practice squad. Chris Jones has always been a big fan and is pushing for it.
