LOWESIE TO LAS VEGAS

The Las Vegas NHL Franchise announced Friday that Bob Lowes has been hired as the team’s assistant director of player personnel.

Prior to joining the Las Vegas NHL Franchise, Lowes served as the chief amateur scout for the Ottawa Senators for the past two seasons.  Lowes has been with the Senators since the 2006 season, where he began as an amateur scout.

Before joining the Senators, Lowes spent 12 years as a head coach in the Western Hockey League (WHL) including nine years with the Brandon Wheat Kings and three years with the Regina Pats.  Lowes was the head coach for the Wheat Kings when they won the WHL championship during the 1995-1996 season.  He has twice been named coach of the year in both the WHL and the Canadian Hockey League, which occurred during the 1995-1996 and 2001-2002 seasons.

Lowes was originally drafted in the 10th round of the 1982 draft by the New York Rangers.  Lowes played two seasons of junior hockey in the WHL for the Regina Pats and one season at the University of Manitoba.

The Las Vegas NHL franchise will begin play in the 2017-2018 season.
