MHOC: CANADA 3 NORWAY 1
SOCHI, Russia (CP) – Team Canada has defeated Norway 3-1 in its first game of the Olympic hockey tournament.
After a scoreless first period, Shea Weber got things going for Canada 6:20 into the second when his shot from the point beat Norway netminder Lars Haugen.
Jamie Benn and Drew Doughty also scored for Canada.
Patrick Thoresen scored for Norway
Carey Price made 19 saves in the Canadian net while Haugen was solid for Norway, stopping 35 shots.
Canada’s next game is Friday against Austria at 11:00 am Sask time.

Norway didn't have a chance after the first. Other than a deflected power play goal it wasn't even close the last 2 periods. I think they know they have to improve but that's the way these tournaments work. Build every game.

You know that 80 year old man who today was wearing a very ugly blue and yellow jacket as if he were representing Sweden over there. Did he forget our Canadian colors or is he just being his ignorant self? Why wasn't he wearing Canadian colors eh ?
I agree Rod. These idiotic comments really bring this blog down and it's an insult to all the great people that post comments here. Even Obama's comments aren't as dumb as that one.
As for the idiot that doesn't like the Olympics, you are entitled to your opinion. But so are the rest of us. And we much appreciate that Rod is posting these updates. If you don't like it, don't read it.
