Monday Commentary: All That Matters
(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
We use Mondays on this commentary to recap the weekend, but also to look ahead.
And how can’t we look ahead to tonight’s Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final with the Florida Panthers home to the Edmonton Oilers in Sunrise?
So much has been written and said about it that frankly I’m tired of the talk. Let’s just drop the puck!
They’re saying this is the biggest game in NHL history and I wouldn’t dispute that.
Fortunately with statistical and ratings data, we’ll have a way to know if it is or not.
No predictions here, and you all know who I’m rooting for.
Truly, may the best team win!
The best team won at Mosaic Stadium on Sunday night, by far. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats fumbled the opening kickoff and never recovered as the Riders laid the boots to them 36-20.
The win came at a cost though, as QB Trevor Harris got knocked out in the second quarter and didn’t return. But everyone said postgame that he could’ve come back however back-up Shea Patterson had it in hand.
Now the Riders have a bye week for Harris to heal up.
It’s way, way too early to make any Grey Cup predictions but that hasn’t stopped fans and pundits from calling for a Saskatchewan-Montreal CFL championship in BC in November.
On the other end of the scale, the critics say the Riders opponents so far this season are a combined 0-6 so therefore they haven’t beaten anybody good.
True, but that thought never dawned on me till I read it after the game.
The simple truth is the Riders have been perfect so far this season, and that’s all that matters.
