LET’S GO WAYYYY BACK TO FRIDAY NIGHT AND THE ROUGHRIDERS’ 26-24 HOME LOSS TO THE EDMONTON ELKS.
AS UNSPEAKABLE AS THAT WAS, QUARTERBACK CODY FAJARDO WAS BOOED, AGAIN, AT HOME AND AFTERWARDS HE ADMITED THAT IT “HURT” AND THAT THE RIDERS FEEL THE WHOLE WORLD’S AGAINST THEM.
YES, CODY NEEDS TO TOUGHEN UP.
NO, HE’S NOT GOING TO TOUGHEN UP IN TIME FOR THE PLAYOFFS.

THE MOVE WAS MET WITH IMMEDIATE SCORN, FROM MANY PEOPLE WHOM WERE THE SAME ONES PUSHING MARINO OUT OF THE THE CFL.
NEWSFLASH: THOSE OF US WHO LEAVE THE ROUGHRIDERS AND THE CFL HAVE THE RIGHT TO PURSUE OUR DREAMS AND GOALS ELSEWHERE.
THE USA IS A REAL NICE PLACE TO DO IT.
BEYOND THAT, CFL COMMISSIONER RANDY AMBROSIE HAS HIS HANDS FULL COMING OUT OF SATURDAY NIGHT’S GAME IN CALGARY WHERE THE LIONS AND STAMPEDERS ALLEGEDLY ENGAGED IN FISTICUFFS AFTERWARDS WHICH REPORTEDLY SPILLED OVER INTO THE PARKING LOT.
THERE DOESN’T SEEM TO BE VIDEO OF THE INCIDENTS SO ONCE AGAIN, AMBROSIE’S GOING TO BE SIFTING THROUGH EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS.
IT REMINDS ME OF “THE INCIDENT’ INVOLVING GARRETT MARINO AND OTTAWA’S JEREMIAH MASOLI IN A REGINA RESTAURANT THE NIGHT BEFORE THE GAME IN JULY. THAT CARRIED OVER ONTO THE FIELD THE NEXT NIGHT.

Must be the Food out West. As a former boo-er myself in Wpg. 30 years of mediocre play can bring the worst out of anybody. E.g. Jeff Reinbold years going 0-9. Winning pre banjo bowl on game 10 against Sask you would have thought we won the Grey Cup because fans stormed the field. Like 9,000 + they had more security next game. Someone needs to tell Cody it’s a game and you can only do the best you can with what you have. Playoffs is always the goal. Nothing Else matters. Still in it and focus on that.
I am a fan of Fajardo but he does have to get a grip on reality. He and the Riders team boooed on friday night for a reason. It was a pathetic display of football. Those in attendance pay good money to watch the Riders and our expectations are high and they should be. The way Cody and the Riders should respond is by delivering a good effort and some results. Cody Fajardo is a public relations dream. Says all the right things, is charitable with his time, is a humble family man and uses every opportunity to profess his love for our province. In the last three years he has been rewarded with every opportunity to prove himself as a starter. No one has ever been brought in that could challenge him for the job.
