Monday Commentary: Not Anymore

Finally! Back to normal on this Commentary after a couple of weeks off over the Holidays …
The NFL playoffs are coming in hot.
The match-ups were determined over the weekend, concluding the regular season with a wild crescendo.
Where to start?
The biggest regular season game in NFL history turned out to be a dud Sunday night — the games with the biggest hype usually do.
The Detroit Lions manhandled the Minnesota Vikings 31-9 at Ford Field to secure the #1 seed in the NFC, and homefield right up to the Super Bowl.
Denver and Tampa Bay clinched playoff spots on the final weekend with clutch home victories, while the Falcons and Dolphins both laid eggs and will miss the postseason party.
And let me tell you … they are hot here in South Florida as Miami owner Stephen Ross issued a statement Sunday night confirming that GM Chris Grier and coach Mike McDaniel will both be back next season.
It is not going over well.
The New England Patriots fired head coach Jerrod Mayo after a 4-win mess, the Tennessee Titans secured the #1 overall pick in the Draft, and now we wait to see what the Dallas Cowboys do with head coach Mike McCarthy.
We’ve known for well over a month that America’s Team was going to miss the playoffs and the only thing us Cowboys fans wondered was how much owner Jerry Jones was going to blow it up. However the early signs are that he won’t blow it up at all.
If you’re a fan of the Cowboys, you should be used to the drama by now. Hopefully you don’t let it affect your Mental Health.
I was not even surprised to see Jerry Jones appear in the latest episode of Landman on Paramount Plus this weekend, just six weeks after he also appeared on the telecast of the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight from Cowboys Stadium.
It gives you a pretty good idea where the team’s priorities are.
They used to refer to the NFL as the “No Fun League”.
Not anymore.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.
