MONDAY RECAP: CFL WEEK 12, LEAFS OUTLOOK, NFL TALK

With another fun weekend behind us it was time to crack the lid on a brand new week with Episode #830 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Monday. Here’s the rundown!:

  • RP and Moose Dupont got things rolling with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) A weekend NFL preseason recap including Chris Streveler lighting it up for the NY Jets and Rod’s story of enjoying Saturday’s Eagles/Dolphins game from a luxury suite in Miami with Dolphins players’ families!, 2) Tom Brady’s voted #1 by fellow NFL players in the annual NFL Network Top 100 Poll, 3) BREAKING NEWS: TSN reports Alouettes owner Gary Stern is stepping away from the team. What does that even mean? Also Week 12 CFL scores and analysis. 4) A review of the movie Bullet Train. RP gives it 4/10 thumbs, saying it was 40 minutes too long but still worth seeing. See it this week at Landmark Cinemas!, 5) An outlook on the Toronto Maple Leafs 2022-23 season. The hosts agree they’ll be in contention to win the Stanley Cup, 6A) Rory McElroy wins the FedEx Cup and 6B) The Blue Jays get swept by the L.A. Angels.
  • ESPN 1530 Cincinnati radio’s Mo Egger joined the show from his backyard, smoking a cigar and drinking a beer! Mo recapped a 1-2 preseason for the Bengals and predicted another AFC title for Cincinnati meaning he’ll join the RP Show at Super Bowl for a second straight year. Mo went over important additions and departures from the Bengals roster, the philosophy of Bengals head coach Zach Taylor, and also promoted Toronto product Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds for the Baseball Hall of Fame! Mo said Votto is a slam dunk for the Top 5 Canadian Major Leaguers of all-time, and that got viewers chiming in with their thoughts.
  • Moose returned for Hour 2 and the guys discussed more on Gary Stern leaving the Alouettes, more on the Leafs, debated Canada’s best MLB players of all-time, and discussed movie reviews this summer including Top Gun, Bullet Train, Elvis and more.
  • Sirius/XM NFL Radio’s Zig Fracassi joined the show to recap the preseason and look ahead to regular season kickoff in 11 days. Zig answered a ton of viewer questions including Tom Brady being named #1 (was it a popularity contest?), the outlook for the Denver Broncos & Russell Wilson, the Carolina Panthers & Baker Mayfield, and much, much more.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who’s the NFL’s top player based on the NFL Network’s Top 100 poll? – Tom Brady, Aaron Donald, Aaron Rodgers or Other? At press time, Tom Brady was leading.
  • Friday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Tori Gurley. Monday’s was Mo Egger!
