MONDAY RUNDOWN: FOOTBALL RECAP

We maintain that Fall is for football and we recapped a wild weekend, plus the other hottest sports topics, on Monday’s Episode #844 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Game+ TV! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off with the Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The NFL season is off to a wild start with the most comebacks and close endings through the opening two weeks in history!, 2) CFL Week 15 recap: Edmonton 26 Sask 24, Hamilton 48 Winnipeg 31 and BC 31 Calgary 29 (OT), 3) The Orioles avoid a sweep by beating the Blue Mays 5-4, 4) CFL Hall of Fame Induction notes, 5) A Florida Panthers NHL preview (much has changed, but the stars are still there), 6A) The Canadian Premier League offers cash incentives for the regular season and playoff champs, and 6B) There are a pair of Monday Night Football games: Tennessee at Buffalo (-10) and Minnesota at Philadelphia (-2.5).
• Among the CFL notes, the panel debated Saskatchewan QB Cody Fajardo objecting to his team being booed at home, Garrett Marino signing in the USFL, Zach Collaros explaining the Bomber loss to the Ticats (saying they were outschemed and outplayed) and the parking lot fracas involving the Lions and Stampeders in Calgary. Rod wondered aloud, “What is this; high school?”
• Edmonton broadcaster Dean Millard from the Twitch TV program Ultimate Franchise Fantasy Sports joined the show for a Week 2 NFL breakdown and an Edmonton Oilers outlook. Dean wondered what Connor McDavid was alluding to when he said the club has plenty of work to do?
• In Hour 2 we were joined by CEBL Vancouver Bandits President Dylan Kuchar who explained the team’s re-brand from the Fraser Valley Bandits, discussed the franchise’s first four seasons and explained what’s next in the CEBL off-season. The Bandits were recently sold to local ownership from being league-owned.
• Friday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was CHQR Calgary’s Jock Wilson. Monday’s was Dean Millard!
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which was the most exciting game in Week 2 of the NFL – MIA/BAL, CIN/DAL, ARZ/LV or NYJ/CLE? At press time, the Dolphins/Ravens were running away with it.
