MONDAY RUNDOWN: GREY CUP COVERAGE BEGINS!

It’s the biggest week of the year in the Canadian Football League and we began our week-long coverage with Episode #1,119 of The RP Show! You can expect plenty of CFL guests on the show throughout the week, plus all kinds of analysis.

We opened The Warmup discussing Montreal’s and Winnipeg’s big wins in the Division Finals. Was the Alouettes win at Toronto the biggest upset in CFL Playoff history? Do you agree with critics that the games shouldn’t have been played on Remembrance Day? (After some deliberation the hosts had no problem with it, citing the fact the NHL, NCAA, NBA, etc. all played). The Bombers have opened as 7.5-point favourites at our official betting partner Bet Regal.

Also in Hour 1 we delved into the Oilers’ coaching change, Connor Bedard’s stellar showing with the Blackhawks in the State of Florida, Week 11 NFL leftovers, UBC’s Hardy Cup victory and other championship games and more.

The Voice of the Calgary Stampeders Mark Stephen joined the show and said he predicted a BC-Toronto Grey Cup so how the championship game turns out is anyone’s guess! Mark scoffed at the historic upset talk, saying that honour belongs to the 1989 Roughriders in the 1989 West Division Final. (The hosts said he might be right). Stephen dabbled in Flames talk and their disappointing start, and said the team is resisting a rebuild because they’re always on the cusp of being a contender.

If you missed the show you can catch the replay at 5:00 pm ET on Game+TV or wherever you enjoy your podcasts.

See you on Tuesday!
