MONDAY RUNDOWN: MCBETH, MIKE RICHARDS AND MORE!

It was big laughs with some great friends on Monday’s Episode #952 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – on Game+ TV, WQEE Radio and YouTube Live! Read on for the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Weekend NHL leftovers including the Ryan O’Reilly injury, Jets/Oilers wars and more, 2) It was Week 3 in the XFL. Did you watch? 3) NFL Combine news & notes, 4) The Toronto Blue Jays will add Jose Bautista’s name to their Level Of Excellence, 5) It’s Day 4 at the Brier, 6A) Raptors & Hawks games and 6B) The Connor Bedard Show.
• 2-time Grey Cup champ McLeod Bethel-Thompson joined the show from California and discussed his agonizing decision to leave the Toronto Argonauts for the USFL’s New Orleans Breakers. “McBeth” said it was difficult but he accomplished his CFL goals and wanted to give the USFL a try. He revealed that a CFL media member scoffed at his goal of returning to the NFL, so that has motivated him even more. McLeod discussed his flourishing beard, and said the Argos are in good hands with QB Chad Kelly.
• Famed sportscaster Mike Richards joined the show from Mississauga for a wide-ranging chat covering the NHL, NFL and CFL. Regarding his beloved Flames Family, Mike said he’s not sure how he’d handle the team’s situation if he was still on Calgary radio, and said the team’s struggles are puzzling. It was a two-segment chat, and Mike got into some of his famous impersonations including Peyton Manning.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which NHL Western Conference team will reach the Stanley Cup Final – Dallas, Colorado, Vegas or Other? At press time, “Other” was leading.
• Friday’s Rockstar of the Day was Shawn Lemon. Monday’s was McLeod Bethel-Thompson!
