MONDAY RUNDOWN: OVERREACTION MONDAY!

There’s a whole lotta emotion coming out of the weekend’s football and hockey action and we were on hand to deal with it all on Monday’s Episode #1,134 of The RP Show!

Some of our Monday overreactions were: 1) Officiating is never going to get better!, 2) The Detroit Red Wings are a Stanley Cup contender!, and 3) FSU got robbed in the College Football Playoff selection!

Vancouver Canucks reporter Jeff Paterson joined the show to discuss Nikita Zadorov getting booed each time he touched the puck in his first return to the Saddledome Saturday night (a 4-3 Canucks win). J.P. felt it was mostly good-natured. He also discussed the Canucks going 4-5-0 over their past nine games, but said their hot start has put them in a good spot to earn a playoff spot.

Legendary football coach and Sky Sports Europe analyst Jeff Reinebold joined the show to recap Week 13 in the NFL and the College Football Playoff selection. Jeff applauded the strong play of Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa – he always believed in him – and explained how the Bowl picture has changed in his time in the game. (Reinebold’s coached in 12 U.S. College Bowl games). The Hawaii legend feels there’s a silver lining for Florida State since they get to compete in the Orange Bowl, and said teams should be happy they get to keep playing for one more game.

The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: Are you happy with the final four team selection in the College Football Playoff? At press time 56% of respondents said no.
