MONDAY RUNDOWN: RYAN GETZLAF!

We opened a new week with more great sports talk live from Calgary’s Entertainment Destination – Grey Eagle Resort & Casino – on Game+ TV and WQEE! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Jon Rahm claimed The Masters and is the first Spaniard to win it since 2017, 2) The Boston Bruins notched their 63rd win; the best in NHL history. Will they win the Stanley Cup?, 3) The Blue Jays win a wild one, 12-11 in 10 innings at the L.A. Angels, 4) WR Odell Beckham Jr. has signed a one-year deal with the Ravens, 5) It’s Game 7 between the Pats & Blades and there’s plenty of controversy!, and 6) NBA news and the Sask Rush lose in Georgia.
  • The Key Auto Group daily poll question was: Will OBJ be catching passes from Lamar Jackson this season? At press time the results were 50/50.
  • The greatest Anaheim Duck of all-time, Regina’s Ryan Getzlaf, joined the show off the top of Hour 2 for a wide-ranging visit. The younger Getzlaf discussed his induction into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, his first year of retirement, (“Oh, it’s wonderful!” he said), discussed the struggles of this year’s Ducks, and said one day he’d like to get back into the game in a meaningful way. You can see Ryan & Chris Getzlaf and Rod at the Pense Sports Celebrity Dinner on April 29!
  • Former Roughriders & Alouettes defensive lineman Chad Geter joined the show for a life update. The South Carolina product recently received an honourable discharge from the U.S. Air Force and is planning his next career move. Geter talked about his time in the CFL and expressed his disappointment at the pandemic ending his pro career.
  • If you missed the show you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/12 am CT on Game+ TV, on our YouTube Channel or wherever the best podcasts are found.
  • See you at 12 pm ET on Tuesday on Game+ TV and WQEE.
