We began our brand new stay at Calgary’s newest casino – Ace Casino Airport & Hotel Clique Calgary Airport – on Monday’s Episode #981 of The RP Show and there was lots going on! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off with these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Stanley Cup Playoffs open Monday night with four games: NYI/CAR, FLA/BOS, MIN/DAL, LAK/EDM. We gave our predictions, 2) The Blue Jays win the Tampa series but the heat is on Alek Manoah!, 3) WHL/AHL playoffs, 4) Kevin Koe takes the Grand Slam Of Curling, 5) The NBA Playoffs are underway, and 6) USA tops Canada 5-3 in the World Womens Hockey Championship final.
  • Famed sportscaster and longtime Flames colour analyst Peter Loubardias was a popular guest at Ace Casino and TIMELY! News broke that the Calgary Flames are parting ways with GM Brad Treliving. Lou said “This was coming”. The panel debated what’s next for the Flames and previewed all of the first round Stanley Cup series.
  • The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: What’s the featured NHL game on Monday night? Kings/Oilers won by a landslide.
  • Winnipeg Jets radio colour analyst Jamie Thomas joined the show from The Fortress in Las Vegas ahead of Tuesday’s Game 1 between the Jets and Golden Knights. Jamie said the Jets are a confident bunch heading into the series and have the decided edge in goal between Connor Hellebuyck and Laurent Broissoit.
  • Friday’s Rockstar of the Day was Jay McNeil. Monday’s was Lou!
  • If you missed any of the show you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/12 am CT on Game+ TV, on our YouTube Channel or wherever you find your podcasts.
  • See you at 12 pm ET on Tuesday from Ace Casino on Game+, WQEE and streaming. Among our guests is Stanley Cup champ Colin Patterson and Parry Shockey.
