MONDAY RUNDOWN: TEEING IT UP!

We were live at Bearspaw Golf Club on Monday at the Rocky Mountain Rotary Celebrity Golf Classic for Episode #782 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Game+ TV! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup discussing these Quick Six show topics: 1) Stanley Cup Final Game 3 goes Monday night with Colorado at Tampa Bay, 2) Stanley Cup Final notes so far, 3) CFL Week 2 buzz, 4) Max Verstappen wins the Montreal Grand Prix, 5) The Blue Jays knock off the Yankees 10-9, and 6) The Memorial Cup opens Monday night with host Saint John up against Hamilton.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Can the Tampa Bay Lightning come back in this series? At press time 70% of respondents said no.
• The celebrity guest list for the golf classic included Theoren Fleury, Lanny McDonald, Jordan Eberle, Bo Levi Mitchell, Pee Wee Smith, Wes Lysack, Curtis Glencross, Natasha Staniscewski, Joel Otto, Alex Gauthier, Rene Corbet, Joel Otto, Catriona Lemay Doan, Mike Rogers, Jock Wilson and many, many more!
• Rocky Mountain Rotary’s Sheldon LeChambre – who’s also the Director of Entertainment at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino – joined the show to discuss the charity, the origin of the tournament, the Flames’ Round 2 loss to the Oilers, and bringing the RP Show to the event.
• Bo Levi Mitchell was invited to come on the show but refused!
• Longtime TSN Sportscentre anchor and current Stamps TV/Flames TV host Natasha Staniscewski joined the show to discuss her career, her new role in Calgary, the Flames’ loss to Edmonton, the Stampeders’ first two games and much, much more.
• Former Renegades, Roughriders, Blue Bombers and Stampeders offensive tackle Alex Gauthier popped by our set for a wide-ranging CFL chat. He said it’s too early to declare the CFL’s best team, admitted his time with the Riders (2011 season) was very rough, and his former teammate Wade Miller returning the Blue Bombers to prominence.
• Catriona Lemay Doan was next up on the show and she discussed decompressing from being Canada’s Chef de Mission at the Beijing Games, the Flames’ loss to the Oilers and a look ahead to the summer in Calgary sports.
• Friday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Jeff Reinebold. Monday’s was Natasha!
