MONDAY RUNDOWN: TIME TO HUNT & BEDARD SWEEPSTAKES
We were back in Florida to kick off a brand new week and Monday was an exciting day with Episode #995 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – on Game+ TV, WQEE & Streaming! Here’s the rundown:
- RP and Moose Dupont got it all going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Weekend NHL leftovers including Toronto going down 3-0 to Florida and Edmonton emerging 1-1 with Vegas, 2) The Blue Jays throttled Pittsburgh 10-1 to sweep the series, 3) It’s NHL Draft Lottery Day!, 4) NBA Playoff weekend, 5) PGA & Miami GP, and 6) Dub Hub and the NLL is down to the Final Four (Colorado, Calgary, Toronto and Buffalo).
- The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: Who do you want to win the NHL Draft Lottery – Anaheim, Chicago, Columbus or Other? At press time, Other was leading with 41% of the vote.
- RP Show hockey analyst Sarina Taylor – Canada’s first female major junior hockey broadcaster – joined the show at The Beach House Pompano to go over all these hockey topics. She felt Columbus would be the best place for Bedard to land. Taylor discussed the uninspired play of the Maple Leafs star players in Round 2, the stellar play of Leon Draisaitl for her beloved Oilers, and much more.
- Florida Panthers great and current radio analyst Bill Lindsay joined the crew at The Beach House to dissect the series. The NHL Network pundit said analytics don’t measure “heart” and the Panthers have a big one! He feels Florida coach Paul Maurice will stress the importance of winning Game 4 on Wednesday, and that the team won’t get ahead of itself. Lindsay said this Panthers squad has a lot of similarities to the 1996 team which went all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. Bill was a big part of that group.
- Friday’s Rockstar of the Day was Jim Barker. Monday’s was Sarina Taylor!
- If you missed the show, you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/12 am CT on Game+ TV, on our YouTube Channel or wherever you find your podcasts.
- See you at 12 pm ET on Tuesday on Game+ TV, WQEE and Streaming.
