CEBL
WINNIPEG – A pair of double-doubles helped the Edmonton Stingers (6-2) hold off the Winnipeg Sea Bears (3-5) on Sunday afternoon, marking their fourth victory at Canada Life Centre since the start of last season. Nick Hornsby, who knocked down a free throw-line jumper in Target Score Time to seal the game, recorded 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Brody Clarke racked up a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds — five offensive — in a little over 21 minutes of action.
CALGARY – Justin Lewis had 19 points to help lead the Calgary Surge (3-5) to an 88-76 victory over the Brampton Honey Badgers (2-7) on Sunday. Lewis hit some clutch shots down the stretch for the Surge, adding seven rebounds and two assists in the win.
SCARBOROUGH – The Montréal Alliance (3-5) got back in the win column on Sunday by shutting down the East-leading Shooting Stars’ (4-3) fourth quarter rally and snapping Scarborough’s four-game win streak with a 93-86 decision. Jordan Bowden and Chris Smith led the way as the pair put up 24 points each on better than 50 per cent shooting from the field and distance. Meanwhile Ahmed Hill chipped in with 14 points while Freddy Ibrahim added a season-high 11 points off the bench.
NBA
The Boston Celtics can win their unprecedented 18th NBA championship Monday night with a win over the visiting Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs prevented a sweep in the best-of-seven Finals with a 122-84 Game 4 win on Friday in Dallas. The Celtics won the first two games of the series at home, before splitting the two games in Texas. Game 6, if necessary, will be played Thursday in Dallas.
MLB
The Toronto Blue Jays, who won two of three weekend games against the visiting Cleveland Guardians, will open a three-game series on Monday against the visiting Boston Red Sox. Left-hander Yusei Kikuchi will pitch for the 35-and-36 Blue Jays, while the 37-and-35 Red Sox counter with right-hander Nick Pivetta.

STANLEY CUP FINAL
The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers will skate today in Sunrise in preparation for Tuesday’s fifth game of the Stanley Cup final. The Panthers, who lead the best-of-seven series 3-1, can hoist their first Cup with a victory at Amerant Bank Arena. The Oilers avoided a series sweep with an 8-1 win in Edmonton on Saturday.
CFL
The visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders erased a 30-23 deficit in the final 45 seconds Sunday night to upset the winless Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-30. The Riders, who have won two road games to start the CFL season, scored a touchdown with 45 seconds left to tie the contest 30-30, then after intercepting a Ticats’ pass 10 seconds later, got a 43-yard field goal from Brett Lauther on the final play to win it.
GOLF
PINEHURST, N.C. (AP) — Bryson DeChambeau is the U.S. Open champion for the second time. It was another thriller at Pinehurst No. 2 that came down to the last hole. He was tied with Rory McIlroy, who was in the group in front. McIlroy missed a 4-foot par putt to fall one shot behind. DeChambeau blasted out of a bunker from 55 yards away to 4 feet and made the par putt for a 71. It wasn’t quite the famous putt of Payne Stewart in 1999 when he made par from 15 feet. But DeChambeau celebrated the second major for a LIV Golf player.

Sea Bears got dominated at Canada Life Centre yesterday. It wasn’t pretty. Missed shots, selfish play, bickering between teammates. There are real problems with this team.
