MOOSE JAW 9 REGINA 4

Things looked good early for the visiting Regina Red Sox Wednesday as they jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning.  Moose Jaw responded quickly to the Red Sox outburst with 6 unanswered runs in their half of the inning on route to a 9-4 victory.

Tommy Lay, who was tagged with the loss, started for the Red Sox and threw 5 innings before giving way to Tyler Vavra and Brandon Radmacher.

Leadoff hitter Zach Weatherford had another solid night at the plate for Regina, reaching base three times on a hit and 2 walks while scoring 2 runs. Gabriel Montero also had 2 hits and an RBI.

The loss dropped the second place Regina Red Sox record to 9-6 while Moose Jaw improved to 7-9.

There is no rest for the Red Sox as they head to Weyburn for games on Thursday and Friday before coming home to host Yorkton and Melville on the weekend.
