NEW STADIUM CONSTRUCTION 22% COMPLETE

The first phase of the Regina Revitalization Initiative, new Mosaic Stadium, continues to be on schedule. Construction is approximately 22 per cent complete.

Since last June, nearly 12,000 cubic metres of concrete has been poured, and more than 1,200 tonnes of reinforcing steel has been used at the site. 190 tradespeople are currently working on the stadium each day, with a total of 189,700 hours spent by the PCL construction team on the project to date.

“I am impressed and thankful that PCL is able to keep making so much progress during our winter months,” said Mayor Michael Fougere. “Their efforts are indicative of the enthusiasm our community has for this project and Reginans are excited to see the progression at the site.”

“In February, we will begin the foundation work in the lower bowl. This enables us to begin the work for all the seating that will be below grade, which is over half the seats in the stadium,” said Sean Hamelin, District Manager PCL Construction Management Inc.

The stadium will be substantially complete in August 2016. The first Rider game in the new Mosaic Stadium will be in June 2017.

Falling dollar and oil prices. Good luck to the regina taxpayers on this one. Don't expect rural sask help when the bills start coming in over budget.

Another uninformed opinion,…..the project cost is guaranteed by the contractor.

Picture cap; looks like a big swimming pool. Hope it's not susceptible to flooding with the inviting threshold design where it's open to the harsh prairie climate environment. Winnipeg stadium already water damaged for whatever reasons.

Anonymous #1 – it's a fixed price contract. There are no increases in what the City, Province & Riders are paying for the stadium. We're locked-in.

It's really exciting to see all the progress.

Good week for the Riders!!!
