PANTHERS SIGN SWAYZE WATERS

CHARLOTTE – Swayze Waters, a standout punter with a standout name, has signed a one-year deal with the Panthers.

Waters, an Alabama-Birmingham product, kicked in the Canadian Football League the last four seasons. He was the CFL’s special teams player of the year in 2014 after averaging 47.7 yards per punt and hitting 47-of-52 field goals as well as all 40 of his PATs.

He missed most of last season – his fourth with the Toronto Argonauts – with a hip injury. Prior to moving to the CFL, Swayze spent offseason time with the Lions, Raiders and Steelers from 2009-11.

Too good up here? What does that even mean?
Was he 100 for 100 on field goals… No he wasn't.
His punting average was good but there has been way better… Like Bob Cameron.
He got lucky and a break. He will play for a bit down South. Don't kid yourself, he might be back in the CFL for 2017
