PAT C’S SPLIT OPENING WEEKEND
The Regina Pat Canadians traveled to North Battleford on Friday and Saturday and split their games. They lost the season opener on Friday by a score of 4-2 and then rebounded with a decisive 6-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Friday night game saw Owen Sillinger and Arthur Miller score for the Pat Canadians.
Clarke Flegel stopped 15 of 18 shots directed his way as the fourth goal was into an empty net.
Saturday the Pat C’s took to the ice in a 2:00 pm start game and came away with a 6-0 victory.
Curtis Meger stopped all 36 shots in earning the victory.
The goal scorers for the Pat Canadians were Connor Chaulk with two and singles to Arthur Miller, Ty Barnstable, Jake Tesarowski and Matthew Chekay. Tyler Adams had three assists.
Following the game 12 players from the Regina Pat Canadians headed to Warman to play in the SMAAAHL/SJHL showcase game held in Warman, Sask., on Sunday, September 28. This is an all star series where the top 40 1997/1998 born players have been selected by the SMAAAHL teams and the SJHL teams.
For the Regina Pat Canadians; Jake Tesarowski, Owen Sillinger, Arthur Miller, Nathan Gelsinger, Clarke Flegel, Riley Mohr participated in the 1997 group. The 1998 group included Riley Woods, Mark Edmands, Ryan Roberts, Jake Heerspink, Ty Barnstable and Tyran Brown.
The next home game for the Regina Pat Canadians is Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 7:30 PM vs the Telus Cup Champions Prince Albert Mintos. On Sunday, October 5 we play the Saskatoon Contacts at 7:30 PM.
