The Week That Was:
After breaking out of their slump last Sunday at home versus Lethbridge, the Regina Pats kept up their winning ways on the weekend, pushing their streak to three.

Friday night saw the Pats take a 5-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades in the teams’ first meeting of the season.  Patrick D’Amico scored twice and added an assist in the game.

On Saturday, the Pats turned the Brandt Centre green for Rider Pride Night and it took a shootout for the Pats to get by the Swift Current Broncos by a 2-1 score.  Morgan Klimchuk scored the Pats’ lone regulation goal and again in the shootout along with Connor Gay.

Roster Moves:
Pats activate goaltender Tyler Fuhr (personal reasons)
Pats reassign goaltender Tyler Brown to Winnipeg Blues (MJHL)
Pats recall/reassign forward Erik Gardiner from/to Prince Albert Mintos (SMAAAHL)

The Week Ahead:
Friday, November 7th – Pats vs. Calgary (7:00 p.m.)
It’s the second meeting of the year between the Pats and Hitmen after Calgary won 5-1 at the Saddledome back in October.  Last season, the Pats won both of their contests against the Hitmen at the Brandt Centre with 3-2 regulation and 5-4 shootout victories.

World U17 Hockey Challenge Update:
Pats rookie Sam Steel had a good start to his tournament when he tallied three assists in a 4-3 OT win over Sweden in a pre-tournament exhibition game.  Team Canada Black didn’t have as desirable result the next night in a 5-1 loss to Russia in their tournament opener.  Steel and Team Canada Black are in action tonight against Team Canada White at 6:00 p.m.

On a Roll:
The Pats got back to .500 with a pair of wins this weekend and have won three in a row to sit 8-8-1-0 on the year.  Over that stretch, the Pats have outscored their opponents 14-4 and outshot them 129-71.  The streak gives the Pats 17 points which place them third in the East Division.

Stopping Pucks:
Daniel Wapple has found the form he had down the stretch in the Pats’ goal last season.  The Saskatoon product has allowed two or less goals in four straight games and holds a 0.949 save percentage over that stretch while posting a 3-1-0-0 record.

Group Tickets:
The Pats want to host you and your group at their next game.  Check out ReginaPats.com or call Kellin Enslev in the Pats Office for more information on discounted tickets for groups of ten or more.  Whether you’re a team, social club or group of friends… there’s always an affordable way to enjoy WHL hockey.
