PATCHAT
THE WEEK THAT WAS:
Mon, Oct – Pats 5 vs. Brandon 1
The Pats didn’t look like a team playing its third in four days in the third period against Brandon. The Blue and White scored four unanswered in the final frame with Dyson Stevenson completing a hat-trick along the way. Morgan Klimchuk finished the game with four points (1G, 3A) while Dawson MacAuley made 27 saves for the win.
Fri, Oct 18 – Pats 3 vs. Medicine Hat 2 OT
Chandler Stephenson scored twice, including the OT winner as the Pats extended their winning streak to five games. Patrick D’Amico opened the scoring for Regina while Curtis Valk and Tommy Vannelli responded for Medicine Hat. Goaltending was a focus as Tigers goalie Marek Langhammer stopped 42 shots while Dawson MacAuley made 29 saves.
Sat, Oct 19 – Pats 4 @ Moose Jaw 2
For the second time in as many visits, the Blue and White were able to take two points in Moose Jaw. After a scoreless first, the Pats got goals from Marc McCoy, Morgan Klimchuk and Connor Gay in the second and another from Dyson Stevenson in the third to propel them to the win. Moose Jaw scored twice late (Point, McCarthy) to cut into the lead.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
“Every goalie wants to be the guy in the net every night. Just to be given that opportunity is something I definitely want to take advantage of. I’m going to try not to be complacent and keep working hard and hopefully continue to earn those starts. I’m still in control of my game and the future. It’s all I can really worry about.”
