PATS 2 WARRIORS 1 (OT)

MOOSE JAW, Sask. (CP) – Morgan Klimchuk scored 1:06 into overtime to lift the Regina Pats to a 2-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Adam Brooks also scored for the Pats (23-12-2), tying the game with his 16th goal of the season at 9:21 of the second period.

Dallas Valentine supplied the offence for the Warriors (15-19-4), who are winless in their last six games.

Regina goaltender Daniel Wapple made 26 saves in the win. Moose Jaw’s Zach Sawchenko stopped 29 shots in the losing effort.

Both teams were held scoreless on five power-play opportunities.

Attended the game and by far the quietest crowd I have seen and heard in moose jaw. The building and amenities are very nice but just not the same atmosphere as the crushed can. MJ has lost some of that advantage and not as intimidating for the visiting team.

I also attended, the crowd was what I expected for a news years eve but I couldnt believe that atmosphere. I dont even think anyone realized the warriors scored lol. We are a quite bunch at the agridome but jeez that was bad.

Would be nice to see 6000+ at the next Pat home game.

May depend on how many Warriors fans decide to come if we hit 5000 or not. Considering the weather and the drive over and back, they may decide to stay home instead.
