PATS 3 WHEAT KINGS 2

Adam Brooks’ second goal of the game at 8:56 of the third period was the winner as the Regina Pats beat the Wheat Kings 3-2 in Brandon Friday evening.  With the win the Pat swept the home and home series with their divison rivals to creep within seven points of the Wheat Kings for first place in the East Dvision.

Brayden Christopher scored the other Pats goal while Daniel Wapple made 32 saves to collect the win.  The Pats outshot the Wheaties 38-34 in the victory while going 0/1 on the powerplay and 4/5 on the penalty kill.

The Pats visit the Swift Current Broncos Wednesday at 7 pm on 620 CKRM.

Pats are now 10-1-0-0 in their last 11 games. As tweeted out on December 14th by Kelly Friesen
"Regina Pats are 9-1-0-0 in their last 10. As @sportscage said yesterday on his show… don't forget who put this team together – @LangChad"

And don't forget who put the coach in place to lead them. I'm not thinking it was Chad Lang.

another good game played by the Pats, its great to see such quality hockey being played by the organization after 20yrs of being mediocre. Im guessing there is going to be a lot of upset people when Klimchuk and Burroughs are traded but there is a bigger picture that needs to addressed. Its a business and these 2 players understand how it works, the Pats will not be a final 4 team so unloading assets makes a lot of sense. We will be a final 4 team in the years to come but our time is not this year. go… Read more »

How do you know they will not be a final four team?

There not as much talent as last year and in fact the talent isn't all that exceptional. Paddock has them playing his style and is very defensive oriented and responsible. If he had some high end talent he would be running away with the league. I don't know if I would be blowing the previous GM's trumpet. He's also responsible for all of our missing draft picks. Take a bow.

to the 6th poster….

Im guessing you didn't hear the interview with the Kelowna Rockets radio guy which involved John Paddock.

There is a much bigger picture here then just this season, we are still a playoff team in our division without those 2 players. You will be the most shocked of all Pats fans im sure lol

Ill have the crying bucket waiting for you when these trades pass thru

Talking about talent, what do you mean? This team right now is plenty talented enough! How do you decipher how talented a team is? I just want to know how you can compare players.

you cant win without talent so to say we have no talent is horse sh#t

Its not like we are winning cause of Klimchuk either he was a non issue in the last 2 games and we still won hes barely at a point/game so he isn't getting us the WINS its been a team effort and that wont change when we trade him either…. the biggest loss will come when/if Burroughs is traded he has been the best defenseman in the league this year and you just don't replace that

to sum up what Paddock said without being able to quote him fully since im old and cant remember word for word anymore… He basically said…. as a head coach I want to add talent but as the GM there is a bigger picture and the ong term success of this franchise. He went on to say that we are not a final 4 team this year and that it makes no sense in being a buyer unless you are a final 4 team. Also said there are a few 19yr olds who will be traded Obviously he didn't name… Read more »

This is from Regan's Rant (Kelowna ROckets) – "I asked Paddock if his team can compete against the Eastern Conference leading Brandon Wheat Kings, and if not, what would it take to be at a level playing field with Kelly McCrimmon's team? "Probably a couple of years", Paddock said bluntly. "Our time isn't now. It is probably Brandon's and Kelowna's now. We know we are not going to play in the final four this year", Paddock added after signing a four year deal with the Pats in July. The Pats look like they are set for a long playoff run… Read more »

Ok this is getting silly they just beat Brandon twice in succession and kelowna plus that interview was in July things have changed since July I don't know what they will do but I think they will be making a wrong decision if they sell

This^^^ and its music to my ears to hear this franchise finally going to do things properly… we missed the boat with Eberle & Teubert then again with Weal and again with Stephenson and Stevenson

Time to stop this bleeding and trade away our stars to better our future of a stronger team then just our own draft picks can produce

wow to the poster who thought that interview was done in July lol wow there are a lot of crazy posters on this forum.

Too many fans are brain washed into the Parker's ways, watching the same BS happen for 20 years now that's what all our fans expect to happen.

Unless this team has a meltdown, which I don't see happening. Than Klimmer,Burroughs and whoever else know it alls think should be traded. They wont be! Us fans will get to enjoy them the rest of the year and into the playoffs. I also don't see us making a big move maybe some small deals. Anyways, enough with all the negativity. Get behind this young exciting team. Go Pats Go

Chad Lang didn't have anything to do with the Paddock hiring. He probably thought he was out the door, but has stuck around so far this season. Good job.

The last post truly isn't a pats fan or he would know that Chad played a signifant role in John being hired. The ownership along with John himself indicated that chad was the one to reach out to john and was the one that brought johns name forward to the ownership. Chad has built this team which won an eastern division title last year and with the coaching staff he has put in place this season he may win an eastern conference titlle
