REGINA — Dyson Stevenson scored in the fourth round of the shootout as the Regina Pats knocked off the Saskatoon Blades 4-3 in the Brandt Centre Friday night before 3798 fans. For the Pats it was their fourth win in four games versus their Highway 11 rivals this season.

Regina was ready to go in this one, as Dryden Hunt scored just 1:25 into the contest. Colby Williams also scored for Regina in the opening 20, as they led 2-1 after one.

However the Blades scored two goals in 35 seconds in the second to take a 3-2 lead which spelled the end of the night for starting goalie Nick Schneider (9/12).

Dawson MacAuley stopped all 10 shots the rest of the way and captain Kyle Burroughs tied it for Regina at 11:30 of the middle period. That was the last scoring before the shootout although Regina outshot the Blades 17-11 in the third and 5-0 in OT.

The Pats outshot Saskatoon 47-22 overall while going 0/3 on the powerplay and 2/3 killing penalties.

Regina (20-17-4) is now tied for fifth in the WHL’s Eastern Conference but holds only a two-point edge over ninth-place Red Deer.  The Pats visit Brandon Saturday at 7:30 pm on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 7:05 pm.

Chandler Stephenson and Morgan Kilmchuck have 2 games left as a Regina Pat player. Everyone come out and see them on Wed when they play against Red Deer if they are here that long.

Agree with Bob. Come out Regina and support these 2 boys before they are gone.

On the face of that comment, it seems to be a bit more than a little far fetched.

Lets hope this is the case. Sell the assets and build a winner. To be buyers would be insulting to Pats fans.

Klimchuk is going no where, Bob please see your doctor and get him to re-check your medications. He is 18yrs old who doesn't even dominate in WHL games there is virtually no chance of him making the Calgary Flames as a 19yr old next season. The Flames have even admitted that Klimchuk is a 1st round project, he will play in the NHL 1 day but it would be for another 2 to 3 years.

Stephenson yes he will be dealt there shouldn't be any questions at all about that.

I think they should trade whatever they can. This team will not win a first round yet maybe not even make the playoffs. Our defence is not playoff calibre. Build now, trade now and change. Everyone complained Parker never sold he bought and stood still. It's time for change. Let the boys go! Klimchuk is not a forever Pat. See what we can get for him. Chandler, let him go. Williams or Burroughs too. If we want winners, lets get size and speed.

Bob Nixon… R u on dope or r u just dumb? Trade 18 yr old Morgan Klimchuk. That would be foolish. The only players likely considered to be sold would be 19 and 20 yr olds. You need a hint of help for next season when Chad's picks start playing full time in this league.

Who takes 20 year old players? There is no room for any teams in the Dub for 20 year old spots. Oh yes, Swift Current has a spot. Might be fitting if Dyson goes that way since he would be a close hometown favourite since Shaunavon is nearby.

for your info Bob since you don't seem to informed….Seattle & Portland also have openings for 20yr old but also did you not notice that the other 20yr olds who have already been traded were swapped for 20yr olds as well????

Bob pay attention stop just thinking you have inside info, to trade a 1st rounder 18yr old who will not be in the NHL next year the price would be extremely steep and very few teams would pay that price for a guy who doesn't even dominate at the WHL level & yes im talking about Klimchuk

Well Bob Nixon in all your wisdom – Portland, Seattle and quite possibly Everett all have open spots for 20 year olds.
