The Regina Pats swept a weekend homestand with back-to-back 4-1 conference victories. On Friday evening the Pats dumped the Saskatoon Blades 4-1 in the Brandt Centre while on Saturday they disposed of the Red Deer Rebels by the same score, upping their record to 32-19-4-3 on the season.
Jesse Gabrielle gave the Pats a 1-0 lead at 15:49 of the first period and three second period goals – from Braden Christoffer, Adam Brooks and Colby Williams – gave Regina a 4-0 advantage heading into the third period. Red Deer’s Haydn Fleury spoiled the shutout bid of Regina goalie Tyler Brown at the 2:02 mark of the third.
Regina outshot the Rebels 37-24 while going 3/9 on the powerplay and 4/4 killing penalties. The attendance was 4122. With the loss, the Rebels fell to 30-20-4-5.
The Pats are next in action Monday at 11:30 am when they visit the Saskatoon Blades on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 11:05 am).
Another key win tonight and they played full 60 minutes. Coaches have these kids believing in themselves. If you're any kind of a hockey fan you are missing out on some great junior hockey. This Team is going to be great to watch as they mature over the next 2 or 3 years.
With seniors and students being shut out out by this ownership group, I wonder who will be available to come to games. With those people facing a 63% increase who will be able to afford to come. The crowds have been decent but that will change next season when the new rates happen. The Calgary Hitmen treat those two groups much better, and they've actually had championship calibre teams. When your wealthy it easy to sluff off an increase of 63%. Some seniors might have to decide to choose between Pats season tickets and medication. The PR damage this ownership… Read more »

Its called "Hockey Hookie Day!" They have previously done this and it's been a huge success. A western div team, I think Vancouver Giants, did it earlier this season and it was a huge success there too. Don't be a Negative Ned all the time….try being a positive fan for a change.
First it was Parker ownership; then no centre ice clock; now ticket prices! Any excuse to stay away from seeing the kids play. This new ownership Team has a plan in mind, it may be 2 or 3 years down the road. Best hockey (by a young Team) being played in years and only to get better. Gold ticket per game under $14…come on people that is still a great price. It's not the increase that gets me. I don't mind and even expected it. But the kids/seniors pricing that's the issue. I went from 200 for my 7 year old to 520??? Unreal
I heard that Blades have had an afternoon game on the schedule for a couple of years at least. Think it is called "hookey" day and has been quite successful. Any Blades fans that can give some insight? Sounds like a great marketing plan to me.

Agree with Weppler comments on quality of hockey and ticket prices. Do not agree with 2nd poster at all. Prices are in line with other teams and they've definitely invested to be competitive with other teams. Over 20 years since a Sask. team has won the WHL Championship and only 3 times in 30 years. You get what you pay for. Mediocrity breeds mediocrity. Time for fans to support the team and its efforts to bring a winner to Regina. Please stop whining about season ticket prices at $10 and $13/game. Give me a break.
Its a back to school promotion where a lot of schoolkids will be in attendance. Its something the Oil Kings started a few years ago. Thought dough-head Parker might capitalize on that idea but he was to dumb. Hopefully QCSE sees what a good idea this is and incorporates it starting next year.
It's some sort of anti bullying thing for school kids on saskatoon tomorrow. 6000 kids will be there. Neat idea.
