SASKATOON – Morgan Klimchuk had a hat trick, Adam Brooks picked up three assists, and the Regina Pats scored four goals in the third period to topple the Saskatoon Blades 5-3 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.

Connor Gay struck twice for the Pats (22-12-2) while Braden Christoffer and Dryden Hunt chipped in with two assists apiece as the Pats won back-to-back divisional games.

Sam McKechnie, Brett Stovin and Cameron Hebig, with a power-play goal, scored for the Blades (9-26-3).

Regina goaltender Daniel Wapple stopped 30 shots in the victory in his hometown. Saskatoon’s Nik Amundrud made 32 saves in the losing effort.

The Pats outshot the Blades 37-33 while going 0/2 on the powerplay and 1/2 on the penalty kill.  The attendance was 4054.

Regina visits the rival Moose Jaw Warriors on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday) at 7:00 on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35).
