REGINA (CP) – Chandler Stephenson scored once and set up two more as the Pats handed Moose Jaw its ninth loss in a row, 5-2 Saturday evening in the Brandt Centre.

Kyle Burroughs, Colby Williams, Dyson Stevenson and Dryden Hunt also scored for Regina (27-21-5) and Morgan Klimchuk chipped in with two assists.

Jack Rodewald scored both goals for the Warriors (13-31-8).

Regina’s Daniel Wapple made 33 saves for the win as Moose Jaw’s Justin Paulic turned away 34-of-38 shots in defeat.  The announced attendance was 4431.  One of the referees was former Pats captain Chris Schlenker.

The Pats are now sixth in the Eastern Conference (59 points), but just one point behind first-place Brandon in the Division.  Regina hosts Medicine Hat Tuesday at 7:00 on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm).

A good weekend for the Blue. Thought Wapple played very well last night after a non-sweat night on Friday (16 shots). That's the tending we need to make it past the 1st round for sure. Very up tempo game last night as MJ wouldn't back down. Great hockey!

Schlenker wasn't very good. Poor job!

Actually, Schlenker did fine. It was Williams that was making the odd calls. Schlenker called maybe two or three penalties all game. He was letting them play.
