VANCOUVER –  The Regina Pats started their west coast trip off with a bang.  Dryden Hunt had two goals to lead Regina over the Giants 6-2 at Pacific Coliseum Friday in the opener of a five-game road trip.

Kyle Burroughs, Adam Brooks, Braden Christoffer and Austin Wagner supplied the rest of the Pats’ (13-9-2) offence. The win was the team’s fifth straight.  Daniel Wapple made 27 saves in the Regina goal as they outshot the Giants 29-27.

Tyler Benson and Jackson Houck opened the scoring for Vancouver (9-14-0).

The Pats visit the Victoria Royals Saturday night at 9:00 on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 8:35 pm).

What is happening to me? No interest in the remainder of cfl playoffs. I've been to 4 Pats games.

Complete opposite to one year ago. I'm enjoying these kids this year.

Great game. Paddock maybe had a "talk" with them after the 1st 5 minutes…it was ugly! Whatever happened the boys never looked back. The 4th line (Kroeker-Cole-Smith) played really well, got a goal to boot. Austin Wagner is getting better every game…speed to burn 🙂

Nice to hear positive chatter about the Pats. So much negativity associated with the boys in the past that this feels real good. A young bunch that's starting to gel nicely. Bodes well for the rest of the trip, the season and into next season…Red Deer's Memorial Cup season. Wouldn't that be nice retribution?!

It's funny Anon #1, I'm the same way this season. I have been to 5 Pats home games and found them ALL very entertaining even though they didn't win them all. I didn't go to any Rider home games in the autumn this year. Last year, I was 100% opposite (was all in on Riders, no interest Pats).

^^^There is always one in the bunch…

Pats are playing very exciting hockey. It will be interesting at the deadline, if the Pats are in the hunt at the time. Keep it going boys.

If the Pats and Paddock know whats best for the team in the long run it wont matter where they sit come trade deadline the likes of Klimchuk and Burroughs will be traded for the better of the franchise…. we had 20yrs of short term goals its time to do things right for once
