Regina, SK – The Regina Pats (27-23-3-4) extended their winning streak to four by beating the Kootenay Ice (10-43-5-0) 7-5 at the Brandt Centre before almost 5000 fans on Friday night.
Game Story
Regina Pats Forward Adam Brooks extended his point streak to nine games turning in a six point night (2G, 4A) as the Pats downed the Kootenay Ice 7-5. In a matchup that featured Hobbs versus Hobbs, Pats Defenceman Connor facing his younger brother, Kootenay rookie Goaltender Declan, it was the older brother who would come out on top posting a hat trick on his way to a four point evening.
Regina came into tonight’s contest winners of their last three and four of their last five. Connor Hobbs broke the ice for the Pats, scoring on the power play seven minutes in to the opening frame. Kootenay would retaliate five minutes later when Zak Zborosky would get one of his two goals on the night to tie the game. Adam Brooks would add two goals of his own in the contest to go along with four assists. The 19 year old Winnipeg product now has 95 points (33G, 62A) on the season. He is now one point ahead of Moose Jaw’s Dryden Hunt for the WHL scoring lead.
With the game tied 4-4 in the third, it was Connor Hobbs who would collect his second of the night at the 13:09 mark of the final frame to pull ahead. He would add the third marker two and half minutes later, in what would prove to be the game winner. Kootenay would get a late goal with .30 seconds left to pull within one, but the Pats Austin Wagner would seal the deal with an empty netter.

But…was a very sloppy victory…that I will take though ?.
Don't usually agree with Struch's post game comments but had to tonight. Got away with one. Took the Ice for granted and can never think of any opposition in that way.
Looking forward to Sunday and am sure the r"real" Team will show up.
Definitely a greasy win the boys are getting on a roll. Stretch run is going to be fun.
It was a greasy win but I'll take those any day over a pretty loss. Hopefully they will get back to solid hockey tomorrow and I think they will. Brooks was the reason we won and is at another level right now. I hope our #2 line starts to pick things up because they were MIA last night. I always agree with John and Dave regarding their assessments of the game. They have a background to see whats going on and the guts to tell it like it is. Pats always have a tough time with the worst team in WHL Kootenay. No idea what the problem is, but they did win and Hobbs got a hat trick against his brother in net.
Was very happy they cranked the music to a more reasonable level for game Friday. Could actually talk to the guys beside me
