PATS 7 RAIDERS 1

REGINA — The Regina Pats failed to clinch the WHL’s East Division pennant Wednesday night, but they did everything in their power to make it happen.

The Pats embarrassed the Prince Albert Raiders 7-1 before 3881 fans in the Brandt Centre but Swift Current’s 6-5 home win over Saskatoon kept the Broncos’ hopes of finishing in first alive. They’re three points behind Regina and each has two games remaining in the regular season.

P.A. started well, with Collin Valcourt beating Pats goalie Dawson MacAuley just 34 seconds into the game. However it was all Pats after that with Dyson Stevenson scoring the first of his two goals at the 4:51 mark to tie the game 1-1 after one.

Regina poured it on in the second with goals from Stevenson, Connor Gay, Chandler Stephenson and Dryden Hunt for a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Gay scored again in the third along with Morgan Klimchuk’s 30th of the season to salt the game away.

Regina outshot the Raiders 38-29 while going 0/6 on the powerplay and 2/3 killing penalties.

The Pats (39-25-6) are next in action Friday evening when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:00 (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm).

The EA sports developers have always been improving on their previous version of FIFA each year to deliver a more accurate game with much improved AI. With FIFA 13 claiming the spot for the biggest video game launch of 2013, more additions or improvement is expected to be in FIFA 14 which is expected to hit the market later on in the fall of 2013.

The Pats played basically a complete game for 59 mins, great effort. Hopefully they can play like that for the playoffs. It should be great entertainment and hockey if they can.
I am scare of one thing from this team, too many penalties as they may have the most penalty minutes of any team making the playoffs. They will need to play with more discipline and stay out of the box, unless they get awesome penalty killing and goaltending.

Not that big of a miracle…unless you're worried about the Blades?? As long as the Raiders get one more win than Brandon this weekend or end up tied for points, Raiders get the tie breaker. If the Pats play another couple full games, Brandon is done. I don't see PA missing out on many points this weekend.

We can't beat moosey…what makes you think we will sweep the blades…we just lost to the blades recently…we do better against teams like edmonton and lose to the lower ranked teams…

Unfortunatelt the Wheat Kings are getting healthy. If Brandon brings their A game for 60 minutes twice this weekend, the Pats will likely finish 6th and play Calgary in the first round.

Above anon…what a maroon…there is no way Brandon can finish ahead of Regina in the standings… the race is only between Regina and SC, and any loss of one point by SC or any gain of one point by Regina secures first place for the pats.

Excuse me to the anonymous that posted if the wheat kings bring their a game then the pats would likely end up playing Calgary .well that's not respecting the pats, and teams have learned a lesson this season if they don't respect the pats.

I have to agree with comments on the cage…the Raiders play soft and check with their sticks instead of taking the body…how many times this year that they skate away instead of hitting an opposing player…it will be a miracle to make the playoffs the way they are playing..
