PATS 8 COUGARS 0

REGINA — Dawson MacAuley made 21 saves to record the shutout as the Regina Pats snapped a two-game slide with an 8-0 fight-filled victory over the Prince George Cougars Friday night in the Brandt Centre.

The Pats put the game away early, leading 5-0 after the opening 20 minutes thanks to a pair of goals from Boston Leier and singles from Carter Hansen, Dyston Stevenson and Chandler Stephenson.

After a scoreless second period, the Pats continued the onslaught with three more in the third frame as Leier completed the hattrick and Logan McVeigh and Morgan Klimchuk also found the net.

Former Pats goalie Adam Beukeboom was lifted for the Cougars after allowing four goals on 12 shots to open the game.

Regina was 2/8 on the powerplay and 1/1 killing penalties while outshooting Prince George 41-21.  The announced attendance was 4268.

The Pats (25-20-5) host Red Deer Saturday at 7:00 on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm)

Hmm Pats win in a blowout and no one's on here telling us how the Parker's are "running the franchise into the ground", how ironic

Ya well they played 5th worst team in the entire WHL, but still a great momentum building game I hope.

Loved the game last night! Didn't give PG achance from the start, all over them, felt sorry for Beukeboom as he was left out to dry. Don't care who you play, an 8-0 win can do a lot for confidence and be a momentum builder!
Loved how the team stood up for each other. Brooks gets cross checked and Shaucker was right there to stand up for his teammate, showed how much they care for each other.
The Brawl was great, Brandt was rockin' and loud. Should've let the goalies scrap though!

GO PATS GO! Good luck against the Rebels tonight.

The only bad thing about the game last night WAS the senseless line brawl. Should be a rule to apply one game suspensions to the players who engage in a fight after the initial fight is started. Ridiculous non-event…adds nothing to the skilled game of hockey.

Beat it Bill. Every Dan in the brandt center enjoyed that line brawl. Only disappointing thing was the Refs not letting the goalies go at it.
