PATS 8 HURRICANES 0

REGINA (CP) – Dyson Stevenson scored four goals – including a natural hattrick in the first period – as the surging Regina Pats rolled over the lowly Lethbridge Hurricanes 8-0 in Western Hockey League play Tuesday in the Brandt Centre.

Stevenson scored the first three goals of the game in the first period for Regina (35-22-6), which has won eight of its last 10 games. The Pats led 3-0 and 6-0 by period.

Patrick D’Amico added two for the Pats, Braden Christoffer had a single and Morgan Klimchuk chipped in a goal and four assists.

Pats goalie Dawson MacAuley stopped 29 shots. At the other end of the ice, Teagan Sacher and Jonny Hogue each allowed four goals for the league-worst Hurricanes (12-47-5). The attendance was 3346.

The first-place Pats visit Swift Current Wednesday evening at 7:00 (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm).

It's obviously getting harder and harder for the haters to say anything negative about this team. Comments have been minimal lately.

First its the Pats won't make the playoffs. Then it's the Pats won't make it past the first round. The Pats now have a GM and scouting staff that can evaluate talent. A coaching staff that is equal to any in the league and can develope the talent they have. They will make it past the first round, and are on an upward path that will continue for a few years. Get your season tickets now well there are some good seats left. you will be in for a few years of existing hockey.

It's nice to see the Pats playing more consisent hockey. They're peaking at the right time. The games this past weekend were 2 of the best games I've seen since being a season ticket holder (only 4 years!). I hope they can keep it up.

Good luck in Swift Current tonight Pats!

Good to see that they're playing well. I might actually go and catch a game soon, I haven't for a few years because I was tired of them stinking up the WHL. Part-time fans will only tolerate a crappy team for so long before they abandon them to prove a point, but I can assure you there are others like me who still watch from a distance and will start coming back if they keep this up
