PATS ANNOUNCE HOME-OPENER DETAILS
The Regina Pats Hockey Club is having a party this Saturday 50 years in the making. In celebration of the Western Hockey League’s 50th Season, the party features an indoor Pre-Game Celebration followed by the Regina Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors playing the back half of a home and home in 1966 retro jerseys.
The Pre-Game Celebration starts at 5:00 p.m. in the Agribition Building adjacent to the Brandt Centre. A valid game ticket and a $2 donation to A&W’s ‘Cruisin’ to End MS’ initiative for the MS Society of Canada get you in the door. Enjoy your choice of a burger or a hotdog and a pop. Listen to the Cornerstone Dance Band playing hits from the 60’s, check out some classic cars and mingle with Pats alumni, including four-time Stanley Cup Champion and NHL Hall of Famer Clark Gillies.
On-air personalities and staff from Harvard Broadcasting along with MS Society volunteers are grilling up burgers and hotdogs and serving pop, courtesy of A&W Restaurants, Sherwood Co-op and the Regina Pats. There is also a cash bar.
For the young Pats fans, Dino Bouncers will provide their unique brand of fun. Want to get your game face on? Fantastic Facepainting will be helping everyone show their Regina Pats pride. There will be crayons and paper to create unique signs to cheer on the home team.
The celebration continues into the Brandt Centre with doors opening at 6 p.m. Regina’s own Rory Allen, world class entertainer and Elvis Presley tribute artist, will sing O Canada ahead of the 7 p.m. puck drop. The players’ retro jerseys will be available for a combined silent and live auction. Don’t forget to grab your pucks for the first chuck-a-puck of the year. A portion of the proceeds from the jersey auction and chuck-a-puck will go to A&W’s ‘Cruisin’ to End MS’ initiative for the MS Society of Canada.
