PATS DUMP RAIDERS 5-2 ON TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT
Regina, Sask. — In the Pats first Teddy Bear Toss Night in two years, five different goal scorers and a hot power play led them to a 5-2 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders.
Tanner Howe brought the teddy bears raining down onto the ice with the game’s first goal under seven minutes in, while Layton Feist and Logan Nijhoff also added power play markers. Zane Rowan scored the game-winning-goal early in the second period, and Cole Carrier added an empty-net goal.
Matthew Kieper was steady all evening long, finishing with 25 saves, but the Pats went all out defensively in the final frame, limiting the Raiders to just six shots on net thanks to some sound structure and sacrifice.
Prince Albert got two goals from newly acquired forward Carson Latimer in the loss.
The Pats next contest is Saturday, December 11 on the road in Brandon against the Wheat Kings.
