PATS FALL 4-2 AT HOME TO BLAZERS
REGINA – The Regina Pats dropped a 4-2 home decision to the Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre.
In the first, the Blazers outshot the Pats 14-8 and got two goals from Orrin Centazzo to lead 2-0 at the intermission. In the second, Nikita Sedov got the Pats within one with his third of the season with six minutes left in the frame. Kamloops responded with a powerplay goal and led 3-1 going to the third. In the final frame, it stayed 3-1 until late when Regina pulled Max Paddock for the extra attacker and the Blazers took advantage, taking a 4-1 lead. The Pats got one back with 1:11 left when Caiden Daley scored his first in a Pats uniform, but Kamloops skated away with the 4-2 victory.
The Pats were outshot 47-23, the powerplay was oh for two, the penalty kill two for three and Max Paddock made 43 saves on 46 shots.
The Pats (7-18-3-0) are back in action on Friday night at home to the Kelowna Rockets at 7 p.m. at the Brandt Centre.
