Head-to-Head
The Regina Pats (28-22-3-2) wrap up their seven game home stand against the Kootenay Ice (31-21-2-2) tonight.  The Pats have lost both meetings with the Ice this season, holding a 0-2-0-0 record.  The last meeting between the teams saw the Ice take a lopsided 6-1 victory in Regina.  Dryden Hunt and Chandler Stephenson are the only Pats to score against Kootenay this season.  Leading the way for the Ice is Jaedon Descheneau with four goals in the two games.  Coming into tonight’s game, the Pats sit in 7th spot in the Eastern Conference after a win over Saskatoon on Saturday.  The Ice were in Moose Jaw last night and came away with a 3-1 win over the Warriors. This evening’s game is broadcast on 620 CKRM starting at 6:35 p.m. CST and Access7 starting at 7:00 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Control Blades in 7-3 Win
The Pats ran the show almost the entire way, getting on the board early and running from there.  Three times the Blades cut the Pats lead to two after the Blue and White opened a 3-0 lead, but there was always a response.  Seven different goal scorers chipped in for the Pats and Daniel Wapple picked up the victory in the 7-3 win. The Pats sent 62 shots on the Blades goal, their highest total of the season.

Multi-Point Night
It was a balanced night of scoring for the Pats Saturday when seven players had multi-point nights.  Four of those players were defencemen with Kyle Burroughs and Dmitry Sinitsyn posting three point (1G, 2A) nights.  Chandler Stephenson extended his point streak to four games with a goal and an assist while Braden Christoffer (1G, 1A) and Patrick D’Amico (2A) both chipped in from the third line.

The Home Stand
The longest stretch of Pats home games comes to a close tonight when the Blue and White play their seventh game in a row at the Brandt Centre.  The string of home dates started January 24th against the Prince George Cougars.  Over that span, the Pats have worked out a 4-2-0-0 record and outscored the opposition 27-13.

Peppering the Net
The Pats haven’t had any trouble getting the puck on net the past stretch of games.  The Blue and White have at least 35 shots on goal in six straight games and in five of those have at least forty.  Their highest total came Saturday by sending 62 shots at Troy Trombley in the Saskatoon Blades net.  Their low of 35 came in a 5-2 win over Moose Jaw.  Over the six games, the Pats are averaging 44.7 shots per game.

Who to Watch on Kootenay
The Ice feature a dynamic pair up front with Reinhart and Descheneau and added to it by acquiring Tim Bozon early in the season.  The former Kamloops Blazer has 58 points (26G, 32A) on the season and 51 in 43 games with the Ice.  The Swiss forward has been red hot to start the month of February with 9 points (5G, 4A) in 5 games.
